 Champlain College has begun the process of completing a comprehensive master plan that will address the College’s physical growth needs over the next 5 to 15 years. The plan will be developed in conjunction with the College’s first strategic plan, published in 2005. As we create the plan we have an opportunity to reflect on the 125 year history of Champlain, to assess the condition of our current facilities, and to set a course for responsible and planned growth in harmony with the city of Burlington, and our neighbors here on the beautiful hill section. The master plan process is a critical component in helping achieve our strategic goals for the future. What facilities does the College need to deliver high-quality educational experiences? What facilities can be added on the hill and what components can move to other parts of Burlington? How can we meet our goals and objectives while remaining sensitive to our urban neighborhood? These are the questions that all of us – trustees, faculty, staff, students, neighbors, city officials – need to address together.
